Amish Paste Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) - Amish Paste Roma tomato seeds date back to the 1870s via Lancaster, PA (Amish roots). These are a prolific and long-lasting producer of large, heavy fruit that are perfect for sauces and pastes making this heirloom a culinary favourite. The fruits are firm with deep red flesh and not too juicy containing few seeds. Shape of the fruit ranges from oblong to slightly rounded bases. A sweet and rich, flavourful paste tomato with very good resistance to defoliation diseases. We have been working on the selection of this strain for nearly 5 years and have been very pleased with the heirloom characteristics we have to date! Vines do require staking for support.
