Amplissimo Viktoria Ukrainskaya Soup Pea (Pisum sativum) - Another exciting pea species gifted to us from our friends at the Secret Garden in Blyth, Ontario. This is a Ukrainian heirloom often substituted for chickpeas in northern latitudes aka the ‘Chickpea of the North’. It certainly does make a brilliant hummus and is ideal as a highly flavoured soup pea! White flowers are born on 5 foot plants. A prolific producer of pods containing 5-6, large blonde peas maturing around 85-90 days from sowing date.
