Herb

Betony (Betonica officinalis) - A hardy perennial in the mint family, native to Eastern Europe and cherished for both its beauty and traditional herbal use. Betony forms sturdy, clump-like mounds that send up many 2-3 foot spikes of purple, lavender-like blooms, an irresistible draw for pollinators. Leaves can be dried and infused into a soothing, black tea-like beverage once prized in folk medicine for easing headaches and calming the nerves. This resilient, low-maintenance herb tolerates drought but thrives with consistent moisture, and is generally avoided by deer and rabbits. A wonderful perennial addition for both garden and tea lovers alike.
