Bill Jump’s Soup Pea (Pisum sativum) – This treasured heirloom has been lovingly preserved through generations. Originally grown by Bill Jump of eastern Washington since the 1930s, it was later shared with the Seed Savers Exchange by his grandson, Dennis Miller, ensuring its legacy continues. Vigorous 5–6' vines produce striking purple-blue blossoms that give way to straight, plump green pods about 3" long. Delicious both fresh off the vine and as a hearty dried soup pea, this variety also showed remarkable resilience during our 2025 drought—an enduring testament to its strength and history.
