Black Sesame (Sesamum indicum) Our seed source was graciously gifted to us from the Secret Garden in Blyth ON. These plants are very easy to grow and look after, requiring little maintenance. Plants typically reach up to 3-4’ in height by the warmest days of summer. Gorgeous pink blooms are born on terminal spikes in early August. Pods begin to form shortly after, turning from green to brown when ripe. Seeds are easily harvested by shaking out dry pods.

Planting Instructions: Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date. Transplant out in a sunny location after the risk of frost. The more heat, the better when it comes to sesame plants!
