Blue Beech Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) - Blue Beech Paste tomato seeds were shared with us by a young seed saver in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. This heirloom is believed to have made its way from Italy into the New England states during the Second World War. An exceptional sauce tomato, Blue Beech produces elongated fruits with distinctive streaked blue shoulders and rich flavour. Plants are indeterminate with dark green foliage. While fruits are somewhat slow to mature, they are well worth the wait. Perfect for stew, sauce, canning, slicing, roasting, freezing—or simply chopping and enjoying fresh off the vine. An extremely versatile and popular variety that deserves a place in every garden.
