Buckeye State Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) - An outstanding heirloom originally developed by the Livingston Seed Co. in the early 1890s. We obtained the seed in 2013 from a market grower in Picton, Ontario, in the beautiful Prince Edward County. He said he was gifted the seed from a Mrs. Connor who labeled the jar as 'Livingston Buckeye'! We have been extremely pleased with this one...a prolific yielding producer of large dark pink-red meaty tomatoes from indeterminate vines. You will definitely want to slice this one in your next BLT or toasted cucumber/tomato sandwich. Buckeye State may need a bit of extra staking!!
