California Wonder Sweet Pepper (Capsicum annuum) - One of the most popular large heirloom bell peppers, dating back to the late 1920s. This reliable open-pollinated variety produces sturdy plants with thick-walled, blocky fruits that mature to glossy green and ripen to vibrant red if left on the plant longer.
Sweet California Wonder peppers are crisp and flavourful, perfect for fresh snacking, salads, sautéing, roasting, and stuffing. When fully red, the fruits develop even greater sweetness and depth of flavour.

Planting Instructions: Start seeds indoors 8–10 weeks before your last frost date. Sow ¼″ deep in a warm seed-starting mix and keep soil consistently moist and warm for best germination. Transplant seedlings into cell packs or small pots at the 1–2 leaf stage. Harden off plants for 4–5 days once frost risk has passed. Transplant outdoors in full sun when day and night temperatures remain consistently above 10 °C, spacing plants 18–24″ apart in well-drained soil.
