Honey Lemon Cherry Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) This one has quickly become our new favourite cherry tomato. Our seed came to us from the other side of the country. We received an envelope from an Audre Billieau (pardon the spelling) of Abbotsford BC, who saw our seed company featured on CBC's Still Standing. The envelope contained 10 small coin sized envelopes of assorted tomato, cucumber and pepper seeds that were determined to be the' best of the best’ and it was strongly suggested we try these 'old timer' seeds. One of the successful trials came from the package of what was labeled ‘ghost cherry tomatoes’. We are assuming it might be an open-pollinated version of the Bratka family's Snow White Cherry. These turned out to be the most spectacular cherry out of all of our first year trials. Indeterminate, vigorous vines produce 1 inch lemon coloured sweet soothing balls of goodness. Limited cracking and excellent disease resistance. Vines will grow upwards of 8 feet if you are willing!! Incidentally, Audre's 'chocolate cherry drops' also performed quite well and came in as a close second!
