Vroege Hendriks Pea (Pisum sativum) This is a very old Dutch heirloom dating back to the early 1800's. The German name for this heirloom pea is 'Fruher Heinrich. These are delicious sugar peas that can be eaten raw or cooked, with or without their pods. They are very common in Asian and European cuisine. A wonderful pea to grow which shows good frost tolerance. Early 3-4 foot plants produce tender, light green pea pods.
