Cardinal Climber (Ipomoea sloteri syn. I. x multifida) - First introduced in 1897 by Logan Sloter who manually crossed a Red Morning Glory (I. coccinea) with a Cypress Vine (I. quamoclit). This is a very attractive annual twining vine with crimson red, trumpet-shaped flowers. If you like hummingbirds, this one is a must! Delicate dark-green leaves with deep sinuses that are quite unique. This species will climb up and around anything you want it to and bloom well into late fall, climbing 10-15 ft. or more.

Planting Instructions: Pre-soak overnight and direct seed 1/4 inch deep, 1-2 weeks after last frost. Can also be started indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost date. Thin to 18-24 inches between plants.
