Tom Thumb Popcorn (Zea mays) - An old-time favourite first marketed in the late 1890s as a compact variety, sometimes listed as “Golden Tom Thumb Popping Corn,” ideal for urban and village gardens. Tom Thumb produces very productive 2–2½ ft. plants bearing many small cobs averaging about 3" in length. This variety pops very well and has excellent flavour, making it one of the best popcorn choices for short-season growers. It is also prized for autumn décor and decorative arrangements.
