Prairie Fire Snapdragon

Prairie Fire Snapdragon (Antirrhinum majus) - A real standout variety with several shades of orange-coloured blooms. This snapdragon is a hot one, resembling a grass fire of the plains when grown in large block plantings. Ken noticed these plants while on tour in Alberta in 2018 and was able to collect some of the seed from a large flower garden near Okotoks. We have been growing this variety for several years now and love the vibrant colours.

Growing Information: Start indoors 8–10 weeks before last frost. Sow seeds on the soil surface and press lightly, do not cover, as light is needed for germination. Keep soil moist under bright light. Seeds germinate in 10–14 days.

Harden off seedlings for 7–10 days before transplanting outdoors after frost. Space plants 25–30 cm apart in full sun to partial shade. Snapdragons prefer fertile, well-drained soil.
