Czech Black Hot Pepper (Capsicum annuum) - A striking heirloom variety known for its ornamental beauty and reliable performance. Plants are early and productive, bearing 2.5″ conical fruits that begin glossy black and ripen to a deep garnet red. With a moderate heat level of 2,000–5,000 SHU, Czech Black delivers a milder kick than Jalapeño or Hungarian Hot Wax, making it a versatile choice for fresh salsas, roasting, pickling, or everyday cooking. This has been a consistent favourite in our Nova Scotia trials, producing dependable harvests year after year.
