Danish Flag Poppy (Papaver somniferum) A stunning large headed somniferum poppy with vibrant red petals revealing a bright white cross through the center, reminiscent of the Danish flag. This is a fairly easy variety to grow and it will shoot up quickly when the right conditions arrive in the early-mid part of summer. Plants reach 2-3 feet and are quite sturdy. Flowers are 4-5 inches in diameter with slightly serrated edges resembling a tattered or winded flag.

Planting Instructions: A week or two before, or after last frost, broadcast seed on top of soil and lightly cover. Thin plants to 6 inches after true leaves appear. Seeds can be sown outdoors in the late fall to enhance spring germination.
