Dwarf Curled Scotch Kale
Dwarf Curled Scotch Kale (Brassica oleracea acephala) ) This old Scottish heirloom kale dates back to 1865, originally known as Dwarf Curlies. Plants have compact growth habit but boast delicate, succulent, tightly curled leaves. A very easy kale to grow and perfect for containers or smaller gardens given its compact nature. This cold hardy kale survived our (Zone 5a) Nova Scotia winters with ease, even with little snow cover in 2019. Planting for fall and winter harvest, but also produces well into the summer months from early spring sowing.
