Dyer’s Coreopsis (Coreopsis tinctoria) This tall species of Coreopsis is native to North America, most abundantly found in the plains and prairies. Often referred to as Calliopsis in the deep south of the US or Tickseed to many gardeners. A very prolific producer of multi-headed yellow flowers with rich burnt red centers. Leaves are fern-like, born on 30 - 40” long, slender stems. Performs best in full sun and will tolerate dry conditions. Dead-heading will increase the blooming period and overall flower density. If planted 4-6” apart, pants will support each other as they get lengthy. Flowers are very attractive to bees and will self-sow quite easily. When used in dyeing, wool will show as yellow to orange, cotton as a lighter yellow. A perfect xeriscape plant as it is low maintenance and drought tolerant.

100 seeds per packet $4.45
