Emil’s Scarlet Red Peony Poppy (Papaver somniferum) - These poppy seeds originated from the gardens of Evelyn Wilkinson of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Emil Byrka initially collected seeds in the late 1990s. He has selected a very deep red strain from these heirloom poppies and has continually regrown it since. A dark red Peony-like head that resembles a geranium from a distance or at first glance. We are excited to offer seeds of this rare family heirloom for the first time in 2024!
