Flanders Poppy (Papaver rhoeas) Striking red blooms that are visible from great distances, Flanders poppies or Corn poppies, will grow in a wide variety of soil types and perform well in xeriscape landscapes. They self sow quite readily without ever becoming weedy. This symbolic Remembrance Day poppy is a good choice if you have frequent deer visitations since the species is mildly toxic to grazing animals. Sow in spring or fall.
