Flax Charmer Mix (Linum grandiflorum) - Flowering grandiflorum flax is native to the Northern regions of Africa and was brought to North America in the early 1800s. Seeds were offered in many early catalogues and plants in nurseries by the 1880s. Flax Charmer blooms range from red, white, salmon, and mauve, many with darker eyes in the centers of the pretty cup-shaped flowers. Visit the plant in the early morning to see a whole crop of new flowers each day. This annual flowering flax grows 16-20 inches tall. Seeds can be directly sown multiple times throughout the growing season for an extended bloom period. We typically sow at two to three week intervals from early April to the end of May to enjoy a long summer stand of the delicate flowers. Can be planted in containers or as a mass planting. Plants will tolerate dry periods and a wide variety of soil types.
