Tall Garden Phlox 'Mosher Strain' (Phlox paniculata) A stunning selection from the south-western corner of our century barn. These lovely blooms have welcomed visitors each summer since the mid 1980's. There are many stands of tall garden perennial phlox near the farmhouse approximately 600 feet to the south of this stand, and so it is a likely assumption that these have set seed from the original plants that were planted in the early 1980's. For nearly 40 years this particular stand has set its own roots and evolved into a beautiful reversion of the original garden phlox genetics. A very long bloomer of an assimilated mix of magenta-pink, to blue petalled flowers. Plants reach 24 - 30 inches in height. We are very pleased with the trials from this stand of phlox and can certainly identify it as being unique through its open-pollinated journey.
