Giant Green Tomatillos (Physalis philadelphica) - A Mexican heirloom favourite, ideal for traditional green salsas (salsa verde) and enchiladas verdes. Also delicious in soups, stews, sauces, or roasted vegetable dishes. These sweet and flavourful fruits can be harvested while still green, picking them right from the papery husk as it turns from green to gold in late summer or early fall. They can also be left to fully ripen to a yellow-sage colour. Plants grow vigorously and can reach 36β40β when supported, otherwise, they will spread along the ground in a vine-like habit.

Planting Instructions: Start seeds indoors 6β8 weeks before the last frost. Sow seeds ΒΌ inch deep in warm soil. Transplant seedlings into 2β3 inch pots at the 1β2 leaf stage. Harden off plants for 4β5 days once the risk of frost has passed. Transplant outdoors when day and night temperatures consistently stay above 10Β°C. Provide support if desired to keep plants upright.
