Giant Green Tomatillos (Physalis philadelphica) A Mexican heirloom favourite used in making traditional green salsa sauces and ‘Enchilada Verde’. Also used in stews and for simmering with meats. A great tasting fruit that can be picked as a tomato, harvesting them right out of the papery-like husk when it turns from green to gold in late summer/early fall. The green fruits are quite sweet and flavourful. Can also be left to ripe to yellow sage. Plants can reach 36-40” if supported otherwise they will crawl in vine habit.
