Glass Gem Corn (Zea mays) - Selected by Oklahoma native Carl “White Eagle” Barnes from a variety of traditional Native heirloom corns, Glass Gem is a striking flint corn with multicoloured, translucent, gem-like kernels. Each cob is unique, showcasing a dazzling rainbow of colours. The plants are sturdy, growing 6–8 ft. tall, and typically produce several 6–8 inch ears per stalk. While the kernels can be popped or ground into flour, they are most often used in autumn displays before consumption. Truly, no two cobs are alike.

100-105 days to maturity.

50 kernels per packet.

Planting Instructions: Direct seed corn after all risk of frost has passed and when soil temperatures are consistently above 18°C. Sow seeds 1–1½ inches deep and approximately 4 inches apart in rows. Thin seedlings to one plant every 8 inches. For proper pollination and full ear development, plant corn in blocks of at least 4 rows rather than a single long row.
