Gulf State Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) - A perfect mid-sized old market tomato, originally developed by A. Livingston in the early 1900s from a selection of an Early Detroit tomato. Gulf State Market tomatoes were selected for market export, standing up well to storing and shipping conditions of the day. Another wonderful gifted seed source from our friends in Prince Edward County, ON. This is a prolific producer of baseball sized, smooth globes of pink-red fruit where the outside is pink and the interior retains a dark red hue. This is a high yielding heirloom that is a very flavourful and exhibits excellent blight resistance.
