Graysville White Slicer Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) Our children were at the Friday afternoon farmers market in Carman MB selling their berries and Lemon Cucumbers when an elderly gentlemen approached them and said..."who would ever eat a cucumber that looked like a lemon?" He walked away but returned an hour later with what he referred to as the 'best white cucumber seeds of all.' He claimed his seeds were from the gardens of a Mr. Stow from Graysville MB. He promised, 'grow these seeds and I'll buy them from you next year'. We grew the seed out the next year and were very pleased with the results from what resembled an heirloom white cucumber but holding a much sweeter and crunchier taste. They sold very well the following season and the man who gifted the seeds returned as he said he would. Ironically, the white slicers were sold out when he arrived. Vines certainly have better disease resistance than the old version we had grown. Creamy white - yellow fruit with a 4-5" length with notable salt & pepper spines. A fabulous pickling or fresh eating cucumber. We have continually grown this variety of small whites since 2012.
