Henderson's Winsall Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) - 'Winsall' was first introduced as a trial to their customers by the Peter Henderson Seed Company in 1924. It was at this time labeled 'tomato #400'. It soon assumed the name 'Winsall' based on the fact that "It Wins Approval from 40,000 People". We grew this one in our hottest field with the best micro-climate for an 85 day tomato, and wow what a beauty! The regular leaf plants of 'Winsall' produce large, juicy pink oblate fruit, averaging around one pound each. Meat is lighter in colour than the skin and not too seedy. Flavour is mildly sweet, and texture is medium making it an excellent slicing tomato.
