Isle of Naxos Basil (Ocimum basilicum) - Isle of Naxos Basil is a fragrant, lettuce-leaf variety collected by Jana Muhar while living on the Greek island of Naxos. This tall-growing basil reaches 24ā30 inches and produces a continuous harvest of large, aromatic leaves when flower spikes are regularly pinched off. The large, soft leaves are perfect for culinary use, adding a sweet, classic basil flavour to salads, sauces, pestos, and more. Hardy and vigorous, this basil is highly attractive to pollinators and can be grown successfully in both garden beds and containers.

Planting Instructions: Start seeds indoors 6ā8 weeks before last frost. Sow seeds 0.5ā1 cm deep in a well-draining seed mix and keep in a warm, bright location. Basil germinates best in consistent warmth and typically emerges in 5ā10 days.
Once seedlings have 4ā6 true leaves and all risk of frost has passed, harden off and transplant outdoors or into containers. Space plants 20ā30 cm apart in a sunny, sheltered location with well-drained soil.
Pinch growing tips regularly to encourage bushier growth and extend leaf production.
