Jimmy Nardello Sweet Pepper (Capsicum annuum) - A beloved Italian heirloom from the Basilicata region of southern Italy, brought to the United States in 1887 by the Nardello family. This Italian frying pepper is long, thin, and slightly gnarly in shape, with a naturally sweet flavour despite its hot-pepper appearance.
Jimmy Nardello peppers are exceptionally prolific, producing abundant fruit that can make harvests a busy but rewarding task. These peppers are perfect for frying, roasting, pizza toppings, or fresh eating, though they soften considerably when cooked.
