Lavender Poppy (Papavera somniferum) A very popular poppy amongst cut flower enthusiasts. Gorgeous 3" single lavender blooms supported by sturdy 24-30" stems make this a stand-out in gardens around the world. Petal edges have a slight serration or fringed appearance. These poppies have a long blooming period here on our Nova Scotia farm.

Planting Instructions: In late spring or fall, broadcast seed on top of soil and lightly cover. Winter sowing is also effective with good germination results. Thin plants to 6 inches after true leaves appear. If starting indoors (not recommended) a 2 week cold-moist stratification period via refrigeration will enhance germination.
