Mary Sulyk Cherry Belle Radish (Raphanus sativus) For over 100 years this summer radish has been a family favourite. We were lucky enough to have a few family members continuing to grow this original heirloom, which originally grew next to my great Aunt Mary Sulyk’s Sweet William flowers in Glencairn, MB. After two years of trials here on our Nova Scotia farm, we are pleased to offer open pollinated selected seed from this vibrantly bright red skinned, 1 inch Globe Radish. Mild tasting, crispy white flesh, make it a good salad addition or simply fantastic on its own with a pinch of sea salt!
25-28 days to maturity

Planting Instructions: A fast-growing, cool-season crop that is easy to grow and ideal for early and late-season planting. Direct sow seeds as soon as the soil can be worked in spring, and again in late summer for fall harvests. Sow seeds 1 cm (½ in) deep. Thin seedlings to 2–5 cm (1–2 in) apart, with rows spaced 20–30 cm (8–12 in). Radishes prefer full sun and loose, well-drained soil. Keep soil consistently moist for best flavour and to prevent bitterness. Harvest promptly once roots reach usable size, as radishes become woody if left too long.
