Nadu African Marigold (Tagetes erecta) - We were very fortunate in 2024, to have received several seed varieties from seed saver, Caroline Wood of Blackie, Alberta, including this tall growing African Marigold. Caroline collected many of her seeds in her travels across the world. These particular seeds originate from Nadu, India. As I write this seed description on November 15th, 2025, the flowers are still blooming in our North field close to the Bay of Fundy. Expect bright yellow and golden orange blooms on vigorous plants that top out around 30-36” in height. Under ideal conditions, it is possible to see 5+ foot tall plants. Caroline has seen these reach 6 feet on her acreage in Alberta.
