Only The Lonely Nicotiana (Nicotiana sylvestris) This tall growing South American perennial heirloom of the tobacco family is most well known for its intoxicating fragrance. You can smell its intensely fragrant flowers from a fair distance during the evening hours. This is a very tall growing, stately plant, flanked with long, tubular white aromatic flowers. We have very good success overwintering this species in large planting pots.
CAUTION - Make a point of throwing felled foliage and dead-heads away; do not add them to your compost pile, since this plant is poisonous! Be mindful of young children and pets if you are growing Nicotiana tobacco species and keep them away from consuming leaves.
