Orchard Baby Corn (Zea mays) - An early-maturing and very flavourful sweet corn. This compact variety was initially bred in southern Manitoba at the Morden Research Station and was offered in the 1940s by the Oscar H. Will & Co., North Dakota. The sturdy 3–5 ft. tall stalks help save valuable garden space. Suitable for smaller gardens and can also be grown in large containers on a balcony or deck. Plants typically yield 2 ears per stalk, with yellow kernels that offer a traditional sweet corn flavour.

Planting Instructions: Direct seed Corn after risk of frost has passed, and when the soil temperature is above 18 degrees Celsius. Sow in a furrow, 1-1.5 inches deep and 4 inches apart, thinning to 1 plant per every 8 inches. Plant Corn in blocks or at least 4 rows to ensure proper pollination.
