Purple Marconi Sweet Pepper (Capsicum annuum) This might be the best fresh eating pepper we have ever grown. A delicious Italian heirloom with dark purple skin colour that ripens to a deep burgundy red. Plants are quite tall reaching up to three feet and are very prolific producers of narrow, tapered 5-6" fruit. Traditionally used as a frying pepper but so good for fresh consumption! Although fruits resemble hot varieties, these are a sweet pepper beginning at the fully ripened purple stage and increasing in sweetness with red colour.

Planting Instructions: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Sow 1/4 inch deep and keep soil warm. Transplant into 1 inch cells or 2 inch pots at 1-2 leaf stage. Harden off plants for 4-5 days after risk of frost has passed. Transplant outdoors once day and night temperatures are consistently above 10 degrees Celsius.
