Purple Marconi Sweet Pepper (Capsicum annuum) This might be the best fresh eating pepper we have ever grown.A delicious Italian heirloom with dark purple skin colour that ripens to a deep burgundy red. Plants are quite tall reaching up to three feet and are very prolific producers of narrow, tapered 5-6" fruit. Traditionally used as a frying pepper but so good for fresh consumption! Although fruits resemble hot varieties, these are a sweet pepper beginning at the fully ripened purple stage and increasing in sweetness with red colour.
