Ruby Tuesday Snapdragon

Ruby Tuesday Snapdragon (Antirrhinum majus) - First seed offers for this highly attractive snapdragon variety appear in 1910 seed catalogs, well before the Rolling Stones hit of 1967!! At that time Ruby Snapdragon was described as a "charming plant for tall beds and groups, and a highly valuable cut flower for manifold ornamental purposes".  Prefers well drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Beneficial to bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Expect 15-25 very dark pink-ruby red blooms per spike.

Growing Information: Start indoors 8–10 weeks before last frost. Sow seeds on the soil surface and press lightly, do not cover, as light is needed for germination. Keep soil moist under bright light. Seeds germinate in 10–14 days.

Harden off seedlings for 7–10 days before transplanting outdoors after frost. Space plants 25–30 cm apart in full sun to partial shade. Snapdragons prefer fertile, well-drained soil.
