Salad Burnet (Sanguisorba minor) A native of Europe, brought to North America by the Pilgrims. The young leaves on this plant have a cucumber-like taste making them attractive salad greens. This edible perennial doubles as a nice ornamental ground cover and is extremely hardy, surviving in our raised planters and in the wide open fields with no mulch or cover. Seed heads on long flower spikes.

Planting Instructions: Start indoors 5-6 weeks before last frost. Broadcast seeds on top of soil and add plastic dome to keep moist. Directly sow outdoors in spring barely covering, spacing 2" apart, thinning to 10".
