Doucet's Superbec Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) A determinate variety originating in Quebec, developed by Roger Doucet of the Food Institute of Ste Hyacinthe as a juicing variety and introduced in 1976.  Seed first offered in 1993 via Seed Savers Exchange, collected by Jim Turner of Cochin, SK. This tomato is ideal for shorter seasons and colder climates. Fruit colour changes from pale yellow to red as it ripens, becoming very sweet. Smooth skinned but firm fruits averaging 2-2.5” in diameter. Plants are slightly compact, producing very good yields of crack free fruits. Slightly firm textured skins on these 2 inch fruits makes it a great salad and slicing variety. Can be grown in large containers.
