Superior White Hollyhock (Alcea rosea) Another family heirloom from Thunder Bay, Ontario, these seeds come to us from Ken’s niece, Carly Hughes, who saved the seeds from a beautiful specimen in her neighbour’s Port Arthur flower gardens. Large and attractive pearly-white blooms occur in the second year. The white hollyhock is a popular ornamental, adding a beautiful touch to cottage gardens and creating a lovely backdrop for other plants of contrast. The pearl-white flowers attract butterflies and bees, making it a great addition to pollinator gardens.
